On October 7, the Bayannur Oilfield's daily crude oil output reached 5,080 tons, crossing the 5,000-ton mark for the first time and setting a new all-time high.
The Bayannur Oilfield is located in the Hetao Basin, where the main oil reservoirs have an average burial depth of more than 5,000 meters, making them the deepest integrated continental clastic rock reservoirs in China. Due to complex and diverse geological structures, the oilfield generally faces challenges such as ultra-deep depth, ultra-high temperature, ultra-high pressure, and wellbore instability, which have led to slow drilling speeds, long cycles, and high costs.
Since the first high-yield industrial oil flow well was drilled in 2018, Huabei Oilfield's Bayannur Exploration and Development Branch has applied key technologies for efficient drilling and completion of deep wells in weakly consolidated reservoirs. Focusing on key technical issues such as geological formation characteristics, wellbore structure, and drilling fluid systems, the company has carried out industry-academia-research-application collaborative research and accelerated the construction of an integrated production system featuring "underground digital-intelligent precision development and surface全域 intelligent operation and maintenance," driving a surge in reserve growth.
Li Jiye, Director of the Technical Information Collaboration Center at Huabei Oilfield's Bayannur Exploration and Development Branch, stated that the company has conducted concentrated research on drilling, well testing, and surface construction to ensure rapid commissioning of new wells this year. The focus is on achieving an annual stable production capacity of one million tons from one hundred wells in the Xinghua Block. By improving automation levels and utilizing intelligent inspection and artificial intelligence technologies, the company promptly carries out workover recovery operations to increase well opening rates, which have risen by 3 percentage points compared to last year.
The application of key technologies has strongly supported exploration breakthroughs and efficient large-scale production capacity building in the Hetao Basin. Currently, more than one hundred oil wells are operating smoothly, efficiently, and continuously.
The Bayannur Oilfield will accelerate the deep integration of "oilfield, gas field, energy field, and carbon field," collaboratively advance technological innovation, intelligent oilfield construction, and artificial intelligence applications, and continuously strengthen the defense line for regional energy security.
