China Construction Machinery Association Reports July Rental Rate Index for Aerial Work Platforms at 649 Points, Down 6.5% Year-on-Year

Data released by the China Construction Machinery Industry Association shows that in July 2026, the rental rate index for aerial work platforms stood at 649 points, a marginal decline of less than 1.0% month-on-month and a 6.5% drop year-on-year.

Overall, most equipment models saw their monthly rental rate indices decline in July. Among them, the 36–39m model posted the largest increase of 11.9%, while the 30–35m model recorded the steepest month-on-month decline at 5.9%.

In July 2026, rental rate indices for all equipment models were down year-on-year. The 30–35m model suffered the largest decrease of 10.6%, while the 36–39m model saw the smallest year-on-year drop of 3.6%. (The rental rate is calculated based on machine-days, with a 100% rental rate equivalent to 1,000 points.)

According to reported statistics, the rental price index for aerial work platforms in July 2026 edged down 1.2% month-on-month. Across the board, rental price indices for various models remained flat or declined compared to the previous month, with the 14–16m model falling the most at 5.2%. Models above 26m saw month-on-month fluctuations largely held around 1.0%.

In July 2026, the rental price index for aerial work platforms decreased by 8.2% year-on-year, with all models experiencing declines. The 30–35m model registered the steepest annual drop of 12.1%, while models above 40m recorded the smallest decrease of 3.8%.

Since the Engineering Machinery Leasing Branch initiated the compilation of the aerial work platform leasing prosperity index in July 2022, statistical calculation methods have been continuously refined. Moving forward, the branch will further improve statistical indicators and methodologies to more accurately reflect market conditions and provide valuable reference for industry players.
