CSPC Secures US$25.00 Million R&D Milestone from AstraZeneca in Long-Acting Peptide Collaboration

Bulletin Express
Jul 10

CSPC Pharmaceutical Group Limited (CSPC) announced receipt of a US$25.00 million research and development milestone payment from AstraZeneca on 10 July 2026.

The payment arises from the strategic collaboration and licence agreement signed on 30 January 2026, which combines CSPC’s proprietary sustained-release delivery and AI-driven peptide discovery platforms with AstraZeneca’s global development and commercial capabilities. An upfront payment was previously received on 29 May 2026.

Management stated that achievement of this milestone confirms that development activities for the licensed long-acting peptide medicines are advancing in line with plan.

The companies will continue joint development, manufacturing and commercialisation efforts, although CSPC cautions that project outcomes remain subject to customary R&D uncertainties. Further material updates related to the agreement will be disclosed as appropriate.
