The ZCode coding product from Z.AI has announced an upgrade, introducing four new features: Goal, Subagents, Remote Control, and Idle Task. This update aims to move the Coding Agent beyond conversational assistance toward autonomous delivery of complex tasks.

Z.AI reported that ZCode has now surpassed one million users, marking a major milestone. To celebrate, the platform reset the weekly limit for all users of the GLM Coding Plan on the same day. According to Z.AI's self-developed Z.ai Code Bench, when paired with ZCode, the GLM-5.2 model achieved a 2.39% higher task completion rate compared to when paired with Claude Code. ZCode's advantage is particularly pronounced in complex tasks requiring cross-file and cross-stage collaboration, culminating in final acceptance testing.

Additionally, ZCode has optimized cache hit rates to effectively increase the available quota for the GLM Coding Plan by approximately 30%. Combined with a 1.5x quota promotion running until August 31, the overall usage of the platform has nearly doubled.
