Two projects from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region have been selected as national exemplary cases for the Internet of Things (IoT) enabling industry development.

According to a recent announcement by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, 82 cases nationwide have been included in the 2025 list of exemplary IoT applications that empower various industries. The two projects recommended by Inner Mongolia successfully made the list.

The first selected case is an "Innovative Application of IoT-enabled Early Warning and Traceability for Water Pollution in the Yellow River Basin." This system integrates technologies including IoT, big data, water quality fingerprinting, and cloud computing. By deploying monitoring stations and establishing an intelligent supervision platform, it achieves full-chain management from data collection to precise pollution source tracing. This creates a replicable model for water environment management, aiding in the ecological protection of the Yellow River Basin.

The second recognized project is the "Research, Development, and Application of an IoT-based Smart Elderly Care Cloud Platform." This platform utilizes information technologies such as IoT, big data, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and BeiDou positioning. It establishes a smart elderly care service model described as "system + service + elderly + terminal," driving the digital transformation of the senior care industry. This achievement has already been deployed at scale within Inner Mongolia, serving tens of thousands of older adults.

The inclusion of these two cases highlights the positive outcomes achieved by the region in IoT scenario innovation and industrial digital transformation. They serve as replicable models for the development of the green environmental protection and smart health industries across the autonomous region.
