Starting tonight at midnight, domestic fuel prices will see a reduction, as confirmed by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
The adjustment window for refined oil products in China will open at 24:00 on August 14. According to monitoring by the NDRC's Price Monitoring Center, global oil prices have experienced a pattern of initial decline followed by a rise during this pricing cycle, which ran from July 31 to August 14.
Effective from 24:00 on August 14, the retail price caps for gasoline and diesel will be lowered by 230 yuan and 220 yuan per tonne, respectively. On a nationwide average, this translates to a per-liter reduction of 0.18 yuan for 92-octane gasoline, and 0.19 yuan each for 95-octane gasoline and 0-diesel fuel.
For a typical private car with a 50-liter fuel tank, topping up with 92-octane gasoline will now cost 9 yuan less than before the adjustment.
