Effective from midnight tonight (August 14, 24:00), China's retail fuel prices will be adjusted downward.
Based on monitoring from the National Development and Reform Commission's price monitoring center, international oil prices experienced a decline followed by a recovery during this pricing cycle (from July 31, 24:00 to August 14, 24:00).
Starting at 24:00 on August 14, domestic retail price caps for gasoline and diesel will be lowered by 230 yuan per ton and 220 yuan per ton, respectively. On a national average basis, 92-octane gasoline, 95-octane gasoline, and 0-diesel will drop by 0.18 yuan, 0.19 yuan, and 0.19 yuan per liter, respectively.
A calculation shows that with this confirmed reduction in retail fuel prices, a private car owner filling up a standard 50-liter tank of 92-octane gasoline will save 9 yuan.
