Stock Track | Fair Isaac Plunges 13.41% After-Hours as FY Revenue Guidance Misses Estimates

Shares of Fair Isaac (FICO) plummeted 13.41% in after-hours trading on Wednesday, following the release of the company's latest quarterly earnings report and forward guidance.

The steep decline was triggered by the company's full-year revenue outlook of $2.53 billion, which fell short of the IBES consensus estimate of $2.555 billion. Market expectations had been elevated heading into the report, with consensus projections for quarterly revenue of $676 million and adjusted earnings per share of $11.68. The miss on forward guidance, combined with a full-year EPS forecast of $36.86, sparked a sharp selloff, erasing gains from the regular session where the stock had rallied about 5% on optimism.

The negative reaction was amplified by the high bar set by the company's history of consecutive earnings beats and recent positive sentiment from a $2 billion stock repurchase program. The outlook miss proved to be a catalyst for profit-taking after the strong regular-session run-up.
