A-shares' first "humanoid robot stock," Unitree Technology, made its debut on the STAR Market on August 19. The stock's issue price was set at 150.80 yuan per share, but it opened at 1,100 yuan per share, surging 629.44% from the issue price, with its total market value briefly reaching 444.9 billion yuan.

After hitting an intraday high, the stock pulled back somewhat, closing at 845 yuan per share on August 19, up 460.34%, with trading turnover exceeding 23 billion yuan and a market value surpassing 341.8 billion yuan. However, on its second trading day, Unitree Technology's shares fell steadily throughout the session, closing down 18.7%. Its total market value dropped to 277.9 billion yuan, a decline of 167 billion yuan from its peak, with turnover reaching 9.072 billion yuan.

During the 2026 World Robot Conference (WRC 2026) held today, Unitree Technology's founder and chairman, Wang Xingxing, delivered a keynote speech. He addressed why the company's products have not been widely deployed in scenarios such as factories and homes. "The main reason is that the overall efficiency and capability are still insufficient. Simply put, although our robots can perform some tasks, their efficiency is still lower compared to humans." According to reports, Wang Xingxing predicted that humanoid robots will enter the "mass market" within a decade, provided manufacturers solve the issues currently hindering their practical usability. He stated that once humanoid robots can handle 80% of tasks delivered via voice commands in unfamiliar environments, the market will take off rapidly. He added that this could take anywhere from two to ten years.
