Fliggy has released its 2026 National Day Holiday Travel Express Report.
Data from the long holiday shows that nature-based tourism has taken over from "reverse tourism": bookings for natural scenery and village products grew more than 40% year-on-year, the number of users booking "ancient village" products rose over 90%, bookings for intangible cultural heritage handicraft experiences doubled year-on-year, and ticket bookings for immersive NPC scenic spots increased 60%.
During the holiday, Fliggy's Help AI saw a 158% surge in interactions, a 110% increase in bookings for flights and hotels driven by the AI, and nearly 100% growth in completed tasks such as check-in and ticket refunds or changes.
The top domestic destinations were Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Chongqing, Wuhan, and Xi'an, while the most popular outbound destinations were South Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong (China), Malaysia, Vietnam, France, Australia, Indonesia, the United States, and Singapore.
