Wuxi Apptec (ASX: 02359) has announced that it has filed a lawsuit against the US Department of Defense in the US District Court for the District of Columbia.

The legal action pertains to the company's inclusion on the updated Section 1260H list as a "Chinese Military Company" by the Department of Defense on June 8, 2026.

The company firmly asserts that the Defense Department's decision to designate it under Section 1260H is erroneous and lacks a foundation in factual evidence or support under applicable statutes and legal precedent.

To safeguard the interests of its clients, partners, employees, and shareholders, the company has petitioned the court for several remedies. These include declaring the Defense Department's designation as invalid and without legal effect, overturning and vacating the decision, and removing Wuxi Apptec from the 1260H list.

Since its establishment, Wuxi Apptec has collaborated with thousands of pharmaceutical and life sciences companies, driven by a singular mission: to assist clients in delivering life-saving and life-enhancing therapies to patients globally.

The company remains committed to this mission and will continue to work closely with its partners and clients. It expresses confidence that the facts of the matter will ultimately prevail.
