Flight Prices Plummet: Fly to Bangkok for 300 Yuan

After the National Day holiday, flight prices have dropped significantly.

Data from online travel booking platforms shows that from October 10 to October 31, the average price paid for flights fell by more than 30% compared to the National Day holiday.

On many routes, flight prices are now lower than high-speed rail ticket prices, and hotel prices have also been declining, ushering in the "best window period" for off-peak travel.

Reporters searching found that within the past week, flights departing from Beijing to Lanzhou, Quanzhou, and Urumqi, from Shanghai to Lijiang and Shenyang, and from Guangzhou to Qingdao and Chengdu all had base ticket prices between 200 yuan and 300 yuan.

Flight prices to multiple popular autumn travel destinations have dropped sharply.

Among them, the base ticket price for a flight from Shanghai to Ordos on October 17 was 492 yuan, and the base ticket price for a flight from Beijing to Altay on October 27 was 570 yuan.

At the same time, international flight prices have also seen an obvious plunge.

Reporters' inquiries found that low-priced inbound and outbound tickets are on sale from multiple departure cities.

For example, within the past week, the lowest fare from Beijing to Seoul was just over 500 yuan, while the lowest fares from Chengdu to Bangkok and from Guangzhou to Kuala Lumpur were just over 300 yuan.

In addition, at many destinations that were popular during the holiday, the average hotel price has now dropped by about 20% compared with the National Day holiday.

Shi Ke, a researcher at the Qunar Big Data Research Institute, said that during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, travel interest in regions such as Xinjiang, Tibet, Qinghai-Gansu, and western Sichuan was extremely high.

After the holiday, both hotel and flight prices fell significantly, improving overall value for money.

At many mid- to high-end hotels in places such as Altay in Xinjiang and Shigatse in Tibet, average prices dropped as low as 300 yuan, while luxury hotels in Garze, Sichuan, still had low-priced rooms in the 200-yuan range at the end of October.

Departing after the holiday during the off-peak period not only avoids crowded passenger flows but also allows travel at a more affordable cost, making it a high-quality choice for off-peak travel.

Special reminder: although low-priced flights and hotels are affordable, they usually come with relatively strict refund and change requirements.

Before purchasing, travelers must pay attention to refund and change rules, baggage allowances, flight schedules, and weather changes at the destination to avoid affecting their travel experience because of chasing a bargain.
