Shares of CF Industries Holdings Inc (CF) tumbled 5.32% in after-hours trading following the release of its second-quarter financial results. The decline came after the company reported earnings and revenue that fell short of Wall Street expectations.
CF Industries posted quarterly earnings of $4.73 per share, missing the analyst consensus estimate of $5.44 by 13.05%. Quarterly sales reached $2.222 billion, below the expected $2.438 billion. The results, while showing growth compared to the same period last year, disappointed investors and triggered the post-market sell-off.
Despite the miss, the company also announced a 20% dividend increase to $0.60 per share and stated that global nitrogen supply-demand fundamentals remain constructive into 2027. However, the earnings shortfall was the primary driver of the negative price action.
