Corteva, Inc. (CTVA) shares tumbled 5.98% in after-hours trading on Thursday, following the release of its second-quarter earnings report that showed a revenue shortfall compared to analyst expectations.
The agricultural chemical company reported adjusted earnings per share of $2.30, beating the consensus estimate of $2.22. However, revenue came in at $6.379 billion, missing the IBES estimate of $6.582 billion. The top-line miss appeared to overshadow the earnings beat and an improved full-year outlook, triggering a sell-off in extended trading.
Corteva also raised its fiscal 2026 outlook, now expecting adjusted EPS in the range of $3.60 to $3.80 and operating EBITDA between $4.1 billion and $4.3 billion. Despite the upbeat guidance, investors focused on the quarterly revenue disappointment, driving the after-hours decline.
