PHARMARON reshapes segment reporting; names new HKEX authorised representative

Bulletin Express
Aug 20

PHARMARON Beijing Co., Ltd. (the Group) has approved two corporate actions effective from the second quarter of 2026: a voluntary change in accounting policies and an adjustment to its Hong Kong authorised representative, according to a Board announcement dated 20 August 2026.

The accounting change aligns the Group’s reporting with Accounting Standards for Business Enterprises No. 35 – Segment Reporting and Interpretation No. 3, reflecting its evolving business mix toward multiple therapeutic modalities such as oligonucleotides, peptides and bioconjugates. The Group’s original five reportable segments—laboratory services, CMC (small-molecule CDMO) services, clinical development services, biologics and cell and gene therapy services, and other segments—will be streamlined into four:

1) Laboratory services 2) CDMO services (covering APIs, materials science, formulation and analytical development) 3) Clinical development services (domestic and overseas) 4) Other segments (non-core activities, raw-material and scrap sales, miscellaneous income).

The revision affects only the presentation of segment information in financial-statement notes. It does not alter reported revenue, net profit, net assets, or cash-flow figures, and requires no retrospective restatement of historical financial statements. Comparative segment data for 2025 will be re-presented under the new structure in the 2026 interim report. The change will also leave the Group’s IFRS-based consolidated financial statements unaffected. The Audit Committee unanimously endorsed the policy update, stating it better matches current business development and internal management needs.

Separately, the Board accepted the resignation of Mr. Lou Xiaoqiang as an authorised representative under HKEX Listing Rule 3.05, effective 20 August 2026, due to a realignment of duties. Mr. Lou remains chief operating officer, president and executive director. Director Mr. Li Shing Chung Gilbert has been appointed as the new authorised representative, while Ms. Mak Po Man Cherie continues in her existing authorised-representative role.

The Board affirmed that both the accounting-policy update and management change serve the overall interests of PHARMARON and its shareholders.
