Rail freight volume in China demonstrated a steady increase during the first half of this year, contributing to the development of a national integrated market.

Data indicates that national railways completed a cumulative freight volume of 2.015 billion tonnes from January to June, representing a year-on-year increase of 1.8%.

The quality and efficiency of rail freight services have been enhanced this year through the operation of high-speed scheduled freight trains, which function with passenger-train-like regularity.

Exemplary services among these trains have achieved maximum speeds of 120 kilometers per hour, effectively meeting the demand for fast logistics from e-commerce and cold chain sectors.

The establishment of the China Multimodal Transport Development Alliance in the first half of the year has expanded the scope of integrated services for rail-water and rail-road combined transport.

Multimodal transport, with railway trunk line services at its core, saw its total logistics volume grow by 87.9% year-on-year.

The 95306 logistics platform has attracted over 200,000 trucks to register, enabling drivers to receive orders directly from the railway system without needing a third-party logistics company as an intermediary.

Door-to-door integrated logistics service volume reached 1.194 billion tonnes in the first six months, helping clients reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Furthermore, the China-Europe Railway Express maintained strong operations, with 11,178 train trips completed, marking a 20% increase compared to the same period last year and facilitating circulation in both domestic and international markets.
