Shares of GIANT BIOGENE (02367) fell nearly 7% after the release of its earnings, and by the time of writing, the stock was down 4.34% at HK$26.88, with trading turnover reaching HK$88.68 million.
According to the results published by GIANT BIOGENE, the company reported first-half revenue of approximately HK$2.918 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 6.3%, while net profit attributable to shareholders stood at HK$940 million, down 20.5% from the same period last year.
A research report from Sinolink Securities noted that the company's short-term earnings pressure is mainly due to its proactive restructuring of sales channels, with a focus on long-term operational quality. Although overall revenue saw a decline, the company's core brands performed strongly during the 618 shopping festival, with online total merchandise value (GMV) for both Kefumei and Keli Jin growing by more than 25% and over 30% year-on-year, respectively, indicating that a recovery turning point has emerged.
