China's autumn grain harvest is being pushed forward at an accelerated pace.
The latest agricultural situation report from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs shows that more than 40% of the country's autumn grain has been harvested. Various regions are seizing the farming season and taking multiple measures to ensure that every grain is safely stored.
At present, Northeast China has entered the peak period of autumn grain harvesting. Heilongjiang has harvested more than 68 million mu of grain, accounting for about 30% of the province's autumn grain area. In Youyi County, Shuangyashan City, 100,000 mu of glutinous rice have entered a concentrated harvest period. Through the implementation of standardized planting, glutinous rice production here has basically achieved full mechanization across the entire process of "plowing, planting, harvesting, and storage." The local area is also actively promoting the contract farming model, under which glutinous rice is sent uniformly to enterprise storage and processing facilities after harvesting, turning a "good harvest" into "good income" for farmers.
Liaoning's autumn grain harvest progress is nearly halfway, faster than the same period last year. Various parts of Liaoning are coordinating the deployment of agricultural machinery and organizing cross-regional operations. In Changtu County, Tieling City, the harvesting of more than 4 million mu of corn is in full swing. This year, the local area is further promoting the combination of mechanized corn harvesting and conservation tillage of black soil, returning straw to the field through supporting crushing and spreading devices to protect the soil layer.
The autumn grain harvest in the Huang-Huai-Hai region is being stepped up. Hebei has harvested nearly 31 million mu of corn, accounting for about 60% of the planted area. This year, Hebei has deployed 810,000 agricultural machines across the province and promoted an integrated operation model of "mechanical harvesting, drying, and storage." In Renze District, Xingtai City, large combine harvesters shuttle back and forth, completing ear picking, husking, and straw crushing and returning in one continuous process, greatly speeding up the corn harvest.
Anhui has harvested more than 30% of its autumn grain area, with new equipment becoming an important guarantee for reducing losses and increasing income. In Guoyang County, Bozhou City, vast stretches of corn are plump and full of kernels. This year, the local area is vigorously promoting intelligent machinery for direct grain harvesting, which can complete multiple operations such as corn ear picking and threshing in a single pass. From harvesting ears in the past to harvesting kernels now, the corn kernels never touch the ground throughout the process, ensuring improved quality and reduced losses in the autumn grain harvest.
