The Ministry of Natural Resources has initiated a Level III response for geological hazard defense in relation to a landslide incident in Gansu province and dispatched a working group to the site to provide guidance.
On July 7th, a landslide occurred in a forest area in Dangchang County, Longnan City, Gansu Province, resulting in multiple people being buried. In accordance with the Ministry of Natural Resources' Geological Hazard Defense Response Work Plan, the Ministry activated the Level III defense response at 9:00 AM on July 7th.
A working group has been sent to the scene to guide and assist in emergency rescue and disaster relief operations. The Ministry has instructed the Gansu Provincial Department of Natural Resources to immediately dispatch a team of experts to the site. Their role is to assist local authorities with personnel search and rescue efforts and to provide technical support during the抢险救援 operations.
Furthermore, the Ministry has directed relevant departments to learn from this incident and strengthen the巡查排查, monitoring and early warning, and preventive measures for geological hazards under similar circumstances. The China Geological Survey and the Ministry's Geological Hazard Technical Guidance Center have been instructed to enhance expert coordination, organizational efforts, consultation, and analysis to fully support and guide the technical assistance work.
