Fraser and Neave, Limited (F99) posts higher nine-month earnings despite revenue dip

Fraser and Neave, Limited (F99) reported revenue of 1.664 billion Singapore dollars for the nine months ended Jun, 30 2026, a 6.0 % decline from the 1.769 billion Singapore dollars recorded in the prior-year period.

Gross profit edged up 0.6 % year on year to 551.2 million Singapore dollars, while profit before interest and tax rose 13.6 % to 266.9 million Singapore dollars, expanding the margin to 16.0 % from 13.3 %.

Profit after tax increased 4.5 % to 177.1 million Singapore dollars, and profit attributable to shareholders before exceptional items climbed 10.4 % to 130.6 million Singapore dollars. Earnings per share before exceptional items stood at 9.0 cents, up from 8.1 cents.

Net gearing increased to 31.3 % at Jun, 30 2026, versus 21.8 % at the end of FY2025, with cash of 317.4 million Singapore dollars and borrowings of 1.378 billion Singapore dollars.

The board declared an interim dividend of 1.5 cents per share, matching the mid-year payout a year earlier.

Operationally, beverage profit before interest and tax surged 75 %, helped by continued growth in soft drinks and a return to profitability in beer. Dairies earnings decreased 7 %, while the Publishing & Printing segment reduced its losses.

By geography, Malaysia contributed 45 % of group revenue, followed by Thailand at 28 %, Singapore at 18 % and other markets at 9 %. Earnings growth was driven by improved beer profitability in Myanmar and a higher stake in Vietnam’s Vinamilk, which lifted the Vietnam contribution to 32 % of group profit before interest and tax.

During the period, Fraser and Neave completed a 15 million Singapore dollar investment for a 19.99 % stake in New Zealand-listed Comvita Limited to strengthen its health and wellness portfolio.
