Heavy rainfall in parts of Liaoning province, influenced by a northeastern cold vortex and the peripheral cloud systems of Typhoon Bavi, has led to significant flooding in Lingyuan City.

Starting from 8:00 AM on July 10, the Daoerdeng Town area in Chaoyang's Lingyuan City experienced multiple rounds of intense precipitation.

By noon on July 12, the average rainfall in Lingyuan City reached 130 millimeters, with Daoerdeng Town recording a particularly high total of 180 millimeters.

The downpour caused river levels in Lingyuan to rise sharply, resulting in damage to rural roads and widespread inundation.

On-site observations revealed numerous trees and vast stretches of farmland submerged under water.

According to local officials, corn fields in the area were flooded to a depth of approximately one meter.

Preliminary assessments indicate that over 6,200 acres of farmland and about 1.5 kilometers of roads across the town have suffered varying degrees of damage, with repair efforts currently underway.

Daoerdeng Town, located in a mountainous region with dense river networks, is a key area for flood and mudslide prevention.

The Hutoushi Bridge, which spans 110 meters in length and 8 meters in width, has been completely submerged by the floodwaters.

Local authorities initiated a closure of the bridge starting at 8:00 PM last night.

Information from relevant local departments confirms that all residents along the riverbanks have been evacuated, totaling 542 people relocated so far.

The town has established 18 centralized shelters, accommodating 117 individuals, while the remaining 425 evacuees have chosen to stay with relatives or friends.

Currently, 11 out of the 12 reservoirs in the area are operating above their flood control limits.

Authorities are actively working to release water from these over-capacity reservoirs to lower water levels.

Local meteorological forecasts predict another round of heavy rainfall for the area tonight.

Emergency response and rescue personnel are maintaining a 24-hour watch to address any sudden hazards that may arise.
