RH Petrogas Limited (T13) said on Jul, 31 2026 that its 82.65%-owned subsidiary, Petrogas (Basin) Ltd., has finished drilling the Northwest Klagagi-1 well in the Kepala Burung Production Sharing Contract, Southwest Papua, Indonesia.
The well targets gas and condensate in the Upper Kais Formation while exploring additional hydrocarbon prospects in the Lower Kais, Oligocene-aged Sirga Formation and Devonian Basement. Strong hydrocarbon shows were encountered, and potential pay zones were identified in both the Upper and Lower Kais formations during drilling and formation evaluation.
Three intervals have been selected for a well-testing programme that is expected to start within days. The tests will evaluate reservoir deliverability, pressure behaviour and fluid characteristics. The company cautioned that no conclusions on commerciality, recoverable reserves or future production can be drawn until testing and further technical evaluation are completed.
Headquartered in Singapore and listed on the mainboard of the Singapore Exchange, RH Petrogas focuses on upstream oil and gas exploration, development and production, with current producing assets in Indonesia.
