EACON (07687) rose nearly 7% in early trading. As of press time, the stock was up 2.75% at HK$61.65, with a turnover of HK$2.9559 million.
On the news front, in August this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Emergency Management jointly issued the "15th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Safety and Emergency Equipment Industry." Aiming to enhance intrinsic safety levels, the plan explicitly calls for the promotion of equipment such as autonomous driving systems for open-pit mines, targeting high-risk operations including mining excavation, transportation, and loading and unloading.
Data shows that as of September 2026, EACON has deployed more than 600 autonomous mining trucks in coal production scenarios, covering more than 10 open-pit coal mines in major coal-producing regions such as Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia. Its application scale ranks first in the industry, with cumulative coal transport volume exceeding 200 million tonnes and operating mileage surpassing 20 million kilometers.
According to a research report by CITIC Securities, EACON is a leading Hong Kong-listed target for the large-scale deployment of L4 autonomous driving in open-pit mines. It possesses four core advantages: fully self-developed "Zhushan + Muye" technology, a business model transitioning from asset-heavy to asset-light, full coverage of leading mining clients, and incremental overseas market opportunities in Australia. As domestic policies for intelligent mining continue to intensify, the penetration rate of autonomous mining trucks is entering an accelerated upward channel. Combined with the company's continued expansion of its asset-light model and gradual recovery in gross margin, profitability is expected to turn positive by 2027.
