Oil stocks collectively advanced. The EIA significantly raised its oil price forecasts for this year and next, and oil companies' profits are expected to improve year-on-year. China Oilfield Services Ltd (02883) rose 4.9%; China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (00386) gained 2.8%; China National Offshore Oil Corporation (00883) climbed 2.7%.
Mainland property stocks led the gains. During the National Day holiday, new home subscription volumes across 50 key cities nationwide rose more than 15% year-on-year. China Overseas Land & Investment Ltd (00688) rose 4.2%; China Resources Land Ltd (01109) gained 3.7%.
DIAGENS-B (02526) surged 32%, as AI4S applications accelerated during the National Day period, with the company being a rare pure-play AI4S target in Hong Kong stocks. WUXI LEAD (00470) rose over 8%, as the battery industry's 15th Five-Year Plan promotes development, and the company continues to iterate on core solid-state battery production processes.
China Tobacco Hong Kong (06055) rose over 4%, as new Board Chairman Li Bin took office, bringing deep experience in the tobacco industry. Sa Sa International (00178) climbed 8%, with second-quarter revenue rising 37.2% year-on-year. COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation (01138) gained over 5%, as Middle East crude oil export volumes recovered, with efficiency losses potentially irreversible. SHEIN-W (00625) rose over 5%, as the Q4 sales peak season is expected to drive a significant increase in order volumes, with Goldman Sachs giving a target price of HK$62.
Global bond markets suffered a sell-off, and Hong Kong banking stocks declined. Standard Chartered PLC (02888) fell 4.4%; HSBC Holdings PLC (00005) dropped 4%.
