Web Travel Group Ltd (WEB.AU) saw its shares plummet 5.04% during intraday trading on Wednesday, extending recent losses for the online travel agency.
The sharp decline follows the company's report of a 24% drop in FY26 underlying net profit after tax to A$13.6 million. Additionally, Webjet Group announced that Virgin Australia will reduce commission streams with its Webjet Marketing unit effective July 1, 2026, a change that would have impacted FY26 revenue by approximately A$3.0 million if implemented earlier.
The company warned that FY27 earnings would be "materially impacted by lower airline commissions," contributing to investor concerns about future profitability. The stock hit its biggest intraday percentage drop since February amid these developments.
