EnerSys (ENS) stock skyrocketed 11.93% in after-hours trading following the release of its fiscal first-quarter 2027 financial results, which significantly exceeded analyst expectations.

The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $3.66, a 64% jump compared to the prior year and well above the consensus estimate of $2.83. Net sales rose 5% to $935.6 million, also slightly beating the forecast of $928 million. The strong performance was driven by robust demand in data centers, communications, and aerospace & defense, along with favorable pricing and product mix. Results also benefited from a $30.9 million tariff refund.

Adding to the positive investor sentiment, EnerSys announced a 10% increase to its quarterly dividend, raising it to $0.2875 per share. The company also provided a solid outlook for the second quarter, projecting net sales between $955 million and $995 million and adjusted diluted EPS of $3.15 to $3.25.
