General Mills' stock surged 5.11% in pre-market trading following the release of its fourth-quarter financial results, which exceeded analyst expectations.

The Cheerios maker reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.95, beating the consensus estimate of $0.80 by 18.75%. Quarterly sales of $4.610 billion also topped estimates of $4.595 billion. The company attributed strong demand to an increase in consumers choosing to eat at home over dining out, which boosted its pantry staples and breakfast cereals.

Additionally, General Mills announced a significant cost savings plan, targeting $3 billion in cumulative savings by fiscal 2030, with at least $750 million expected in fiscal 2027. The company provided guidance for fiscal 2027, expecting adjusted diluted EPS in the range of $3.00 to $3.20, compared to the FactSet estimate of $3.13.
