Pony AI's stock (PONY-W) soared 5.97% during intraday trading on Monday, following the announcement of a significant expansion milestone in the Middle East.
The autonomous driving company has deployed driverless robotaxis in Dubai and plans to launch a public, fare-charging commercial service in the emirate later in 2026, with a fleet expected to reach hundreds of vehicles. This deployment is a key step in the company's dual-engine growth strategy to scale its validated business model from China to international markets.
The company aims to operate over 3,000 autonomous vehicles across more than 20 cities globally by 2026, with overseas markets expected to account for roughly half of those locations. This expansion is supported by a capital-efficient joint deployment model, where Pony AI provides the technology and local partners contribute operational capabilities and vehicle funding.
