Anthropic PBC disclosed to prospective investors that its second-quarter revenue grew at least 14 times compared to the same period last year.
According to Bloomberg, Anthropic achieved preliminary second-quarter revenue exceeding $11.5 billion, compared to $787 million in the same period of 2025 and $4.73 billion in the first quarter of this year. Additionally, Anthropic posted a positive adjusted operating profit for the second quarter.
As the company vies for enterprise clients with its long-time rival OpenAI, Anthropic is experiencing rapid growth. Once considered a laggard in the artificial intelligence race, Anthropic is now seeing more professionals adopt its software to streamline tasks, including coding.
Earlier media reports indicated that Anthropic's annualized revenue surpassed $47 billion in May. According to a previous article, OpenAI's annualized revenue exceeded $40 billion, though the two companies' calculation methods may not be identical.
Insiders revealed in July that Anthropic is meeting with investors to prepare for a potential large-scale IPO. The company has confidentially filed for an IPO and is working with Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs Group, and JPMorgan Chase to advance the process.
Anthropic aims to leverage the ample financing capacity of the public market to maintain its competitive edge over rivals like OpenAI. Currently, AI companies are investing hundreds of billions of dollars in developing the most advanced artificial intelligence models.
This AI race has also heated up the IPO market. According to data compiled by Bloomberg, total IPO proceeds for the year have reached $256.4 billion, excluding special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) and other financial instruments. This marks the highest annual figure since 2021.
