The Ministry of Natural Resources has initiated a Level III emergency response for geological disaster prevention in Gansu Province. This action follows a landslide that occurred in a forest area of Dangchang County, Longnan City, Gansu Province, on July 7, which resulted in multiple individuals being buried.

According to the Ministry's established work plan for geological disaster prevention and response, the Level III response was activated at 9:00 AM on July 7. A working group has been dispatched to the site to provide on-the-ground guidance for emergency rescue and relief operations.

The Ministry has directed the Gansu Provincial Department of Natural Resources to immediately send a team of technical experts to the location. Their role is to assist local authorities with the search and rescue efforts and to provide technical support during the emergency response. Furthermore, the provincial department is instructed to use this incident as a reference to enhance patrols, inspections, monitoring, early warnings, and preventive measures for similar geological hazards in the region.

Additionally, the Ministry has requested the China Geological Survey and its Geological Disaster Technical Guidance Center to intensify their efforts. This includes optimizing the deployment of experts, improving coordination, conducting joint analysis and assessment, and providing comprehensive technical assistance and guidance to support the ongoing operations.
