Ministry of Natural Resources Activates Level III Geological Hazard Defense Response for Gansu, Dispatches Team to Guide Rescue

The Ministry of Natural Resources has activated a Level III emergency response for geological hazard defense in Gansu Province and dispatched a working group to the site to provide guidance for rescue and relief operations.

This action follows a landslide that occurred in a forest area of Dangchang County, Longnan City, Gansu Province, on July 7th, which resulted in multiple individuals being buried.

The response was initiated at 9:00 AM on July 7th in accordance with the Ministry's established work plan for geological hazard defense.

The Ministry has directed the Gansu Provincial Department of Natural Resources to immediately send a team of experts to the site to assist local authorities with technical support for search and rescue efforts.

Furthermore, authorities are instructed to learn from this incident by enhancing patrols, inspections, monitoring, early warnings, and preventive measures for similar geological hazards.

The Ministry has also requested that the China Geological Survey and its Geological Hazard Technical Guidance Center strengthen the coordination and dispatch of experts, organize consultations, and provide comprehensive technical assistance and guidance.
