The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce has launched a new promotional campaign aimed at stimulating consumer demand for premium digital products, particularly during key shopping periods like the summer holidays.

This initiative, named "New Jiangsu Consumption · Quality Digital," offers a special subsidy for individuals purchasing smartphones with a final selling price exceeding 6,000 yuan.

Consumers are eligible for a subsidy equivalent to 10% of the final purchase price, capped at a maximum of 1,000 yuan per device.

The campaign commenced on June 18th and will continue until the allocated subsidy funds are exhausted, operating on a first-come, first-served basis.

Each consumer is limited to one subsidized purchase per participating platform or retailer.

The subsidy is available across both online and offline channels, with the entire application and verification process being handled digitally for convenience.

Online, eligible purchases can be made through platforms including JD.com, Taotian, Douyin, and Suning.com, where the subsidy can be verified and applied at the point of sale.

For offline purchases, consumers and physical stores must utilize the "New Jiangsu Consumption Service Platform" WeChat mini-program.

Retailers can register for free via the mini-program, and once approved by the commerce department, they are added to the official list of participating merchants.

Offline buyers must complete the entire subsidy process—application, document verification, and fund disbursement—through this same mini-program.

To ensure proper use of public funds and prevent fraudulent claims, the Department of Commerce has implemented strict verification procedures.

For all phones delivered in person, the device must be activated on the spot at the time of receipt.

Store staff are required to record the device's serial number (SN), IMEI code, and take a photo of the activated device, ensuring these codes match those on the packaging.

All relevant documentation is archived to facilitate full-process oversight of the subsidy distribution.

A key feature of this campaign is the ability for consumers to combine multiple discounts.

The "Quality Digital" phone subsidy can be used in conjunction with another ongoing provincial promotion called "Jiangsu Products & Goods · Golden List College Admission Season."

This allows recent high school graduates and current university students to enjoy additional platform-specific discounts, trade-in offers, and special student subsidies after verifying their identity.

By purchasing a flagship phone priced above 6,000 yuan, students can stack these benefits with the provincial subsidy, significantly reducing the overall cost of the device.
