On April 17th, the playground of Pingjiang County Tianyue Furong School was transformed into a spring charity bazaar. Students from the second to fifth grades became certified "project partners" in a cross-project charity sale that integrated practical skills, financial literacy, and philanthropy. Through hawking, trading, and settling accounts, the children experienced a growth lesson more vivid than any classroom lecture.
During the preparation phase, classrooms turned into "startup incubators." In math class, students learned pricing strategies and profit calculation; in Chinese class, they crafted promotional slogans and sales pitches; and in art class, they designed hand-drawn posters and creative price tags. Each class formed project teams, openly recruited for positions like shop manager, accountant, sales advisor, and order supervisor, and completed pre-job training, ensuring every student had a role and responsibilities.
The event also deepened the collaboration between families and the school. Parents acted as "external advisors," helping children sort through old items, negotiate prices, and practice bargaining. On the day of the event, over fifty parent volunteers assisted with setup, safety, and documentation, synchronizing parent-child cooperation with campus activities.
The bazaar officially opened at 1:30 PM. Over a hundred stalls were neatly arranged, with creative signs like "Worry-Free Grocery," "Rainbow Shopkeepers," and "Love Drift Station" fluttering in the wind. Student "employees" wearing badges performed their duties diligently, expertly applying a three-step service routine—smiling, greeting, and introducing products. Sales teams enthusiastically promoted goods with megaphones, while accountants focused on collecting payments, calculating change, and neatly recording transactions. Order supervisors politely guided the shopping flow. When minor issues arose, such as disputes over change, students negotiated independently, checked accounts, and resolved conflicts quickly, enhancing their communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills in real-world scenarios.
By 3:00 PM, the charity sale concluded successfully. Financial teams from each class gathered to count the proceeds, with all earnings solemnly deposited into class "love funds" designated for charitable donations. After the event, students wrote reflection notes on their experiences, sharing genuine takeaways. This initiative was not merely a simple stall setup but a complete project-based learning cycle. From project planning and role recruitment to on-site operations, financial settlement, and charitable giving, it integrated mathematical calculation, language expression, artistic aesthetics, integrity, and creative labor, achieving a holistic educational approach.
Education extends beyond the classroom, and growth stems from real practice. School officials stated that Pingjiang County Tianyue Furong School will continue to use life as a textbook and practice as a classroom, enabling students to learn cooperation, creativity, communication, and responsibility in authentic settings, allowing compassion and duty to take root and flourish in their hearts like spring seeds.
