HSBC Holdings PLC has announced a series of senior appointments designed to strengthen its leadership team across Singapore and the Middle East, signaling a continued focus on key growth markets.

In Singapore, Harjeet Singh has been appointed as Global India Head, reporting directly to Gautam Anand, the Global Head of India. Prior to joining HSBC Holdings PLC, Singh spent over nine years at Bank of Singapore, where he most recently served as Managing Director and Head of Markets, leading the global South Asia business. Based in Singapore, he will be responsible for expanding the bank's India client franchise locally, further enhancing its capabilities in a strategically important client segment.

Separately, HSBC Holdings PLC has hired Jay See as Head of Offshore China Business in Singapore. With 18 years of experience in private banking, See has deep expertise in serving Chinese clients in Singapore, having previously held a China specialist role at Credit Suisse and UBS. In his new position, he will lead the offshore China business in Singapore, strengthening the connectivity between Greater China and Southeast Asia, while continuing to grow the bank's Chinese client franchise.

Additionally, Lay Hong Tan has joined the Singapore team as Head of Local Market Business. She previously served as Head of the Singapore Market Team at UBS, where she developed extensive experience with Greater China clients, particularly those from Taiwan. She will lead the local client service team, with a focus on ultra-high-net-worth and high-net-worth families in Singapore, as well as Mandarin-speaking clients across the region.

In the Middle East, Vivek Pandohi has been appointed as Global India Head for the Middle East region, also reporting to Gautam Anand. He previously held several senior management roles at HSBC Holdings PLC's private bank in the UAE, most recently leading the Global India and Non-Resident Indian business. In his new role, Vivek will oversee the expansion of Indian client business across the Middle East, with a particular emphasis on deepening coverage across the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

Tommy Leung, Head of South Asia Private Banking at HSBC Holdings PLC, commented: "Entrepreneurs and family business clients are increasingly cross-border in nature, with operations in one location, investments in another, and family members spread across multiple jurisdictions. Our mission is to help clients simplify the complexities of cross-border wealth management. The structure of our team and its ability to collaborate across regions is essential. The Global India platform integrates resources from India and major international wealth hubs, allowing relationship managers to collaborate across markets around the client. By strengthening the leadership in Singapore and the Middle East, and continuing to invest in the Singapore and China markets, we are deepening local expertise while bringing our extensive international network closer to our clients."
