Muyuan Foods Group Co.,Ltd. (02714) has reported a net loss attributable to shareholders of approximately RMB 6.078 billion for the 2026 interim period, a sharp reversal from the profit recorded in the same period last year. The company's operating revenue came in at around RMB 59.41 billion, a decrease of 22.3% year-on-year, with basic earnings per share at a loss of RMB 1.1.

During the first half of 2026, the company sold 38.615 million commercial hogs, including those supplied to its slaughtering and meat business segments. It also processed 17.234 million hogs for slaughter and sold 1.9165 million tonnes of fresh and frozen pork products. The revenue decline was primarily driven by a significant year-on-year drop in hog selling prices during the reporting period.

Despite the financial setback, production efficiency continued to improve, with hog farming costs falling year-on-year. By June 2026, the company's full-cycle hog farming cost had decreased to approximately RMB 11.7 per kilogram. Looking ahead, Muyuan Foods plans to focus on health management, breeding stock genetics, nutritional formulas, and intelligent technology applications. Through technological innovation and refined management practices, the company aims to enhance key production metrics and continue reducing costs, targeting an average full-year cost of RMB 11.5 per kilogram as previously set for this year.
