Flight prices plunge sharply after the National Day holiday: 300 yuan to fly to an overseas destination

Airfare prices have dropped noticeably after the National Day holiday. Data from an online travel booking platform shows that from October 10 to October 31, the average payment price for air tickets fell by more than 30% compared with the National Day holiday.

Airfares on multiple routes are lower than high-speed rail ticket prices, and hotel prices have also retreated one after another, entering the "best window period" for off-peak travel. A reporter found that within the past week, departing from Beijing to Lanzhou, Quanzhou, and Urumqi, from Shanghai to Lijiang and Shenyang, and from Guangzhou to Qingdao and Chengdu, the base ticket prices were all between 200 yuan and 300 yuan.

Airfare prices for multiple popular autumn tourist destinations have fallen sharply. Among them, the base ticket price for a flight from Shanghai to Ordos ( rights protection ) on October 17 was 492 yuan, and the base ticket price for a flight from Beijing to Altay on October 27 was 570 yuan.

At the same time, international airfare prices have "dived" significantly. A reporter's search found that low-priced inbound and outbound tickets are on sale for departures from multiple cities. For example, in the past week, the lowest ticket price from Beijing to Seoul was more than 500 yuan, while the lowest ticket prices from Chengdu to Bangkok and from Guangzhou to Kuala Lumpur were more than 300 yuan.

In addition, for many popular holiday destinations, the current average hotel price has also dropped by about 20% compared with the National Day holiday. Shi Ke, a researcher at Qunar Big Data Research Institute, introduced that during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, travel enthusiasm in Xinjiang, Tibet, Qinghai-Gansu, and western Sichuan was very high. After the holiday, both hotel and airfare prices have fallen significantly, and overall value for money has improved.

The average price of many mid- to high-end hotels in Altay, Xinjiang, and Shigatse, Tibet, has dropped as low as 300 yuan. Luxury hotels in Garze, Sichuan, still had low-priced rooms in the 200-yuan range at the end of October. Departing off-peak after the holiday avoids crowded passenger flows and allows travel at a more affordable cost, making it a high-quality choice for off-peak travel.

Special reminder: although low-priced air tickets and hotels are affordable, they usually have relatively strict refund and change requirements. Before purchasing, travelers must pay attention to refund and change rules, baggage allowances, flight schedules, and weather changes at the destination to avoid affecting the travel experience because of trying to "snap up a bargain."
