The Ruili Immigration Inspection Station has reported that, as of midnight on June 30, 2026, the total number of inbound and outbound passengers inspected across all ports and passages under its jurisdiction reached 30.815 million. This figure represents a year-on-year increase of 10.8% compared to the same period in 2025, indicating steady growth in cross-border personnel movement and the full release of border opening vitality.

Core Hub and Network Structure

As a core hub within the China-Myanmar land border port system, the Ruili Inspection Station has established a "one center + multiple nodes" network layout. This system centers on the Ruili Port as the main hub, coordinating with the Zhangfeng Port and other radial passages such as Lameng, Yinjing, Nongdao, and Leiyun. This setup ensures unified inspection standards, coordinated passenger flow management, and real-time data interconnection.

Passenger Flow and Peak Periods

In the first half of the year, the station processed an average of 17,000 inbound and outbound passengers daily. During peak periods such as the Spring Festival, Water-Splashing Festival, Labor Day holidays, and the peak border trade season, the ports experienced multiple surges in passenger traffic. The flow primarily consists of cross-border business personnel, border residents engaged in mutual market trade, cross-border schoolchildren, individuals visiting relatives, and cross-border tourists, reflecting the sustained high level of bilateral people-to-people exchanges and trade between China and Myanmar.

Infrastructure and Technology Upgrades

To address the growing demand for clearance, the station is systematically advancing upgrade and expansion projects for fast-track inspection equipment at various ports. Plans include adding biometric fast-track channels. Once completed, these will enable integrated verification using facial recognition, fingerprints, and travel documents, effectively reducing passenger waiting times and shortening individual inspection duration. An AR real-scene cloud mapping system at the ports allows for real-time monitoring of passenger flow in all channels, enabling accurate prediction of peak periods and issuing early warnings.

Streamlined Processes for Foreign Nationals

The station has fully implemented an online application system for foreigner arrival cards, supported by guidance materials in both Chinese and Burmese. This initiative has significantly reduced the on-site form-filling wait time for foreign nationals, markedly improving their clearance experience.

Specialized Channels and Services

To cater to the diverse clearance needs of different groups and types of goods, the station has established five specialized channels on a regular basis: a fast-track channel for Chinese citizens, a "Sunshine Channel" for cross-border schoolchildren, a green channel for fresh fruits and vegetables, an emergency medical care green channel, and a dedicated channel for the Belt and Road Initiative. Aligning with the distinct passenger flow patterns—morning market trade, midday commerce, and evening family visits—the station implements flexible service models. These include dynamically opening additional counters and adjusting police deployment, with all inspection channels operational during peak hours to minimize queueing time.

Assistance for Special Needs Passengers

For special passengers such as the elderly, weak, sick, disabled, pregnant, or those requiring emergency medical care, on-duty officers provide full guidance and priority inspection services. On-site assistance includes policy interpretation, translation support, and bilingual legal education. In the first half of the year, the station opened emergency assistance channels over a hundred times, aiding more than a thousand passengers in difficulty. This approach has effectively addressed specific clearance bottlenecks and challenges, successfully implementing differentiated and people-oriented convenience services.
