Nutanix Inc. (NTNX) shares surged 16.81% in after-hours trading following the release of its fiscal second-quarter 2026 financial results, which exceeded analyst expectations, and the announcement of a major strategic partnership with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).
The hybrid multicloud computing company reported quarterly revenue of $722.8 million, surpassing the FactSet consensus estimate of $709.9 million. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $0.56, well above the $0.44 analysts had anticipated. Furthermore, adjusted operating income was $189 million, significantly higher than the estimated $148.5 million, reflecting strong operational performance.
Concurrently, Nutanix announced a multi-year strategic partnership with AMD to co-develop an open, full-stack AI infrastructure platform for enterprise agentic AI. As part of the agreement, AMD will make a strategic investment of $150 million in Nutanix common stock at a purchase price of $36.26 per share and provide up to an additional $100 million for joint engineering and go-to-market initiatives. This partnership and capital infusion are seen as a significant validation of Nutanix's technology and a catalyst for future growth in the AI space.
