Shares of Ametek Inc (AME) soared 5.59% in pre-market trading Tuesday after the industrial technology company reported second-quarter results that handily beat analyst expectations and raised its full-year earnings outlook.
Ametek posted adjusted earnings of $2.09 per share for the quarter, up 17% from a year earlier and well above the consensus estimate of $1.99. Revenue climbed 15% to $2.04 billion, topping the $1.95 billion forecast. The company cited strong organic sales growth and contributions from recent acquisitions as key drivers of the performance, with notable order strength in semiconductor, aerospace, medtech, defense, and automation markets.
Looking ahead, Ametek raised its 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to a range of $8.20 to $8.30, up from its prior view of $7.94 to $8.14 and above the $8.15 analyst consensus. The company also said it expects full-year sales to rise about 10% versus 2025. For the third quarter, Ametek guided adjusted EPS of $2.08 to $2.10, compared with the $2.05 estimate.
